Choir

We offer a range of choral ensembles that focus on developing vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, and ensemble performance. Our choir programs include both a cappella and accompanied singing, providing students with a wide array of vocal experiences. Designed for young students with a passion for singing, these ensembles create a fun and engaging environment where students can explore and strengthen their speaking and singing voices.

In the early stages, students will focus on pitch matching with unison melodies, blending with the group, and following a conductor, all foundational skills for any choir member. As they progress, students will build new skills, such as singing full major and minor scales using solfege, improving diction, and incorporating melodic and rhythmic ostinatos. They will also be introduced to partner songs and begin learning how to read vocal scores. The curriculum emphasizes singing in various intervals, including thirds, fifths, and contrary motion, while also exploring two- and three-part harmonies.

Students will have the opportunity to explore diverse repertoires from different cultures around the world, broadening their musical knowledge. This ensemble encourages both individual vocal development and teamwork, fostering collaboration in a dynamic and supportive musical environment. Whether for fun, skill-building, or preparing for performances, this choir program offers an enriching experience for all involved.
